Bird Watching

(09N/10D)

Sri Lanka is a birder’s haven. The incredibly diverse birdlife, which includes over 400 species, is due to the tropical warmth, relative seclusion, and astounding biodiversity. Every year, approximately 200 migratory species arrive in the country after flying south for the winter; some, such as sandpipers and plovers, migrate from as far north as the northern tundra. In a two-week birding vacation in Sri Lanka, you can easily see all 33 endemic birds as well as at least 200 species. Whether bird watching is your passion or you just want to give it a try, grab a pair of binoculars, a guidebook, and a notebook and join us in this birdwatcher’s paradise.
